Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) outside the hamlet of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 1,884 metres (6,181 ft). The lake has a surface area of 50 hectares (120 acres). When it is full, it reflects a distinctive shade of azure blue. “한 달간의 캐나다 여행, 그중 가장 빛났던 순간은 브라우니 가이드님과의 동부 투어였습니다.” 캐나다 동서부를 한 달 동안 여행하면서 오케이투어의 다양한 투어 프로그램을 이용했는데, 전체적으로 정말 만족스러웠습니다. 하지만 그 중에서도 동부 투어를 맡아주신 브라우니 가이드님과의 여정은… 정말 잊지 못할 감동으로 남았습니다. 처음에는 다른 가이드분들과는 조금 다른 진행 방식에 낯설기도 했지만, 하루 이틀 지나며 점점 브라우니님만의 진심과 따뜻함에 스며들었고, 어느새 그 매력에 푹 빠져버렸어요. 그리고 5일이 지나, 마지막 날 작별 인사를 하던 그 순간엔… 마음 한구석이 너무 아려서 눈물이 핑 돌 정도였습니다. 적지 않은 인원임에도 불구하고 한 사람, 한 사람을 섬세하게 챙겨주시고, 역사나 지역에 대한 설명도 그저 암기한 정보가 아니라 자신만의 해석과 애정을 담아 전달해주시는 모습에 깊이 감동했습니다. 가이드라는 직업을 단순한 일로 여기지 않고, 진심을 다해 사람과 순간을 대하는 분이라는 게 느껴졌어요. 직장생활을 해본 사람으로서, 그런 마음가짐은 정말 멋있고 귀한 것임을 알기에… 더 깊이 다가왔습니다. 게다가 사진도 너무 잘 찍으셔서 덕분에 인생에서 가장 반짝이는 추억들을 아름답게 기록할 수 있었고, 투어가 끝난 이후에도 질문 하나하나에 정성껏 답해주시고, 마지막까지 따뜻하게 배려해주시는 모습에 ‘정말 좋은 사람을 만났구나’ 하는 마음이 들었습니다. 다른 가이드님들도 훌륭하셨지만, 브라우니님은 정말 특별했어요. 그 분의 진심, 따뜻함, 그리고 열정은 여행 그 이상의 선물이었습니다. 한국에 돌아와서도 아마 오랫동안 그리울 것 같아요. 이번 여행에서 멋진 풍경도 많이 봤지만, 사람이 주는 감동이 이렇게 오래 가슴에 남을 수 있다는 걸 다시 한 번 느끼게 해주셔서 진심으로 감사드립니다.
